Updated: Jan 24, 2022

The average price for real estate in Mississauga skyrocketed in 2021.

All market segments monitored by the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) hit new record highs in the final month of 2021 to cap off another record-setting year.

The story was the same for semi-detached homes, which saw an average price increase of 27.9 per cent last year, growing from an average of $884,685 in December 2020 to $1,131,332 last month.

Both apartment and townhouse-style condominiums in Mississauga followed a similar pattern in 2021, increasing in average price by 26.4 and 26.5 per cent, respectively.

Apartment condos ended 2020 selling for an average of $519,346, increasing to an average of $656,673 to close out 2021. Likewise, townhouse condos grew in average price year-over-year from $672,181 to $850,014.

While falling just shy of breaking the total annual sales record of 11,584 set in 2016, total sales for all dwelling types combined increased by 30.2 per cent, compared to 2020, from 8,678 transactions to 11,303 last year.
